Pago Rides charges the official taxi cab tariff published by the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA). This rate applies equally to every licensed operator in Rwanda — there is no surge pricing, and the rate does not change based on demand, time of day, or weather.
| Distance | Rate |
|---|---|
| First kilometre | 1,500 RWF |
| Kilometres 2–30 | 700 RWF per km |
| Beyond 30 km | 500 RWF per km |
| Waiting time | First 15 minutes free, then 1,500 RWF per additional 15 minutes |
Example: a 5km trip = 1,500 RWF + (4 × 700 RWF) = 4,300 RWF.
Pago Express delivery pricing is set independently by Pago, since RURA's passenger tariff applies only to carrying people, not packages. These rates are current but may be adjusted as we confirm whether delivery/courier pricing requires separate regulatory approval.
| Item | Rate |
|---|---|
| Base fare (includes first 2km) | 700 RWF |
| Each additional kilometre | 300 RWF per km |
| Small package | No surcharge |
| Medium package | +500 RWF |
| Large package | +1,000 RWF |
| Rush delivery (under 30 min) | +500 RWF |
The fare shown when you book is an estimate based on the pickup and drop-off you entered. Your final fare reflects the actual distance and time of your completed trip or delivery, and may differ slightly from the initial estimate.
You can pay by cash, MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, or card, depending on what's available at the time of your trip.
