This Driver Agreement ("Agreement") governs your participation as a driver on Pago Rides or a delivery rider on Pago Express (together, "Driver," "you") in providing transportation or delivery services facilitated through the platform operated by Pago Transportation Network Ltd ("Pago," "we," "us"). By completing the driver or delivery rider application and having your account approved, you agree to this Agreement in addition to Pago's general Terms of Service.
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, partner, or joint venturer of Pago. You determine your own hours, decide which trips or deliveries to accept, and are responsible for your own vehicle or motorcycle, fuel, maintenance, and applicable taxes. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment relationship. If Pago enters into a separate arrangement with you to operate a company-owned vehicle on a salaried basis, that arrangement will be governed by its own separate written agreement, not this one.
To be approved, you must provide accurate information including a valid driver's license number and vehicle or motorcycle details. Pago reviews this information before approving your account, but approval does not guarantee a minimum number of trips, deliveries, or income. You are solely responsible for holding a valid license, vehicle registration, and insurance as required under Rwandan law, and for ensuring your vehicle or motorcycle remains roadworthy.
For each trip or delivery you complete through Pago, you earn 85% of the fare, and Pago retains a 15% commission.
All payments go to Pago, not directly to you. Riders and senders pay using Pago's own Mobile Money account, Pago's own Airtel Money account, or card. You must never ask a rider or sender to pay you directly through your own personal Mobile Money, Airtel Money, or bank account.
Cash payments must be turned in at the Pago office — cash collected from a rider or sender is not yours to keep; it belongs to Pago until your 85% share is paid out to you. Keeping cash fares for yourself instead of turning them in is a serious violation of this Agreement and may result in immediate account termination and recovery of the amount owed.
Pago pays out your 85% share of completed trips and deliveries on a regular payout schedule, communicated to you at onboarding. If that schedule changes, Pago will notify you in advance.
Where a rider or sender has provided a photo or description to help you identify them, you may use it solely for that purpose — to confirm you are picking up or delivering to the correct person. You may not save, share, screenshot, or use this photo for any other purpose. Doing so is a serious violation of this Agreement and may result in immediate account termination.
If you are a Pago Express delivery rider, you are required to take a photo confirming successful delivery before a delivery can be marked complete. This photo should clearly show the delivered item was handed off or left as instructed, and should not unnecessarily include identifiable bystanders.
You agree to: treat riders, senders, and recipients with courtesy and respect; operate your vehicle or motorcycle safely and in compliance with Rwandan traffic law; accurately represent your location and availability; and refrain from requesting payment outside the agreed fare, discriminating against any rider or sender, or engaging in any form of harassment.
Riders and senders rate you after each completed trip or delivery. A sustained pattern of low ratings, unresolved complaints, or safety concerns may result in Pago reviewing, suspending, or terminating your account.
Pago may suspend or terminate your account for violation of this Agreement, the general Terms of Service, failure to remit commission owed, safety concerns, or repeated rider/sender complaints. You may stop driving or delivering for Pago and request account closure at any time.
As an independent contractor, you are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes owed on your earnings under Rwandan law, and for maintaining any permits or registrations required to operate as a driver or delivery rider.
Pago may update this Agreement from time to time. Continuing to accept trips or deliveries after an update is posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda, consistent with Pago's general Terms of Service.
